Our Philosophy

We celebrate early childhood education as underpinning each child’s positive life-long learning journey. The continuing success of our preschool is built on a strong foundation of acceptance, nurturing and connection.

Our children, families, staff and educators play and learn on land that belongs to the Bidjigal clan of the Darug Nation. We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as we work with our children and families to build understanding, tolerance and mutual respect for all cultures, traditions and heritages.

Our children

We believe that children are competent and capable learners with unique and diverse skills and knowledge. Our program, educators and environment empower children to lead their own learning. We work together to build an environment where children are safe, secure, respected and supported in all aspects of their development.

We believe that children’s early learning is achieved through play. We promote ‘hands-on’, play-based experiences. Opportunities for fun, spontaneity, challenge, experimentation, inspiration and creativity are encouraged, supported and valued.

Our families

We recognise families as the first and most influential people in children’s lives. As such we work to create a partnership with families that is built on safe, secure, respectful and reciprocal relationships. We recognise the importance of the history of the preschool and the generations of families who have been a part of Kellyville Preschool.

We invite families to share their culture and talents with us, to enrich our program and extend our knowledge. We value open communication with families as we seek to create a welcoming, inclusive environment.

As a not-for-profit, community-based preschool we support and encourage families to be involved in the management of the preschool through the Management Committee and Parent Club.

Our staff / educators

The staff at Kellyville Preschool are committed to providing the highest quality education and care for the children and families. They are professional, knowledgeable, dedicated, experienced and nurturing. Staff utilise their skills and knowledge to develop programs that reflect a high level of professionalism.

The staff are committed to professional development to further their knowledge and skills in early childhood through ongoing training, critical reflection, team meetings and professional discourse.

Educators use meaningful documentation to record the development children display, reflecting on the distance travelled by each child using the Learning outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework. Educators intentionally connect planned experiences to children’s experiences, skills and interests.

Our community

Established in 1975 by a group of parents and community members as a not-for-profit community-based preschool, we aim to provide high quality education and care for the surrounding community. We work to preserve the history and identity of the preschool whilst embracing the changing needs of the local community in the present day. Our connections to local schools and businesses enrich our service.

We invite, encourage, embrace and value our diverse community interests and involvement as we also reach out to engage in the everyday life of our community.
